Dr. Kate Lyzenga-Dean

Dr. Kate Lyzenga-Dean is a Functional Medicine Health Care Provider in Grand Rapids, Michigan. An expert in holistic, natural medicine, she is also an engaging speaker, wellness blogger, and online-learning instructor. She has particular interest in stress-reduction techniques, especially for busy women.

Denise Baker

Denise Baker is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher and the owner of The Yoga Studio, the oldest yoga establishment in Grand Rapids. She became a student of yoga in 2007 as a path for her own emotional healing and began teaching in 2013 to bring the physical and emotional well being she found through yoga to others.

Cheryl Blackington

Cheryl is a certified Mindfulness teacher who believes in the power of mindfulness practice to bring about transformation in individuals and communities. She has taught mindfulness trainings for parents, young people, and in local schools for the past 8 years.

Join us for a unique opportunity to unplug, de-stress, and refuel with fellow wellness-seeking women. Give yourself permission to pause, reflect, and refill your cup of energy, joy, and good health!

FAQ's

This women's wellness workshop will include:

  • a restorative yoga session - whether you've never touched a yoga mat before or you're a headstand regular, there will be something for you!
  • a stress-reducing meditation session - for everyone from mindfulness beginner to zen master
  • an opportunity for quiet reflection and/or a guided walk in the woods
  • a healthy (gluten & dairy-free) lunch, snacks, & hot tea
  • and much, much MORE!
  • This day is designed for comfort but includes gentle movement as well. Yoga pants and a cozy sweater would be perfect. You will also have the opportunity to spend some time wandering in the woods. If you desire to participate, please bring outdoor-weather appropriate gear such as boots, hats, and a warm coat.
  • Bring a notepad or journal and something to write with.
  • If so inclined, you're welcome to bring your own yoga mat

We are proud to offer a gluten and dairy-free lunch with vegetarian options for those who prefer it. 

Hot tea and healthy snacks will be available throughout the day.

***The kitchen is NOT certified gluten free for those who are highly allergic.

We know how difficult it is to take a day for yourself, so we encourage you to put this event on your calendar right away and plan around it!
