How is this different from working with my regular doctor?
Dr. Kate uses functional lab testing that goes beyond standard bloodwork. Instead of checking whether you're "in range," she looks at how your systems are actually functioning and gives you a personalized protocol based on your specific results.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Everything is done online, on your own time. You order your test, complete it at home (or at a local Quest location for thyroid), and receive a pre-recorded video walk-through of your results plus a written protocol. No scheduling
What are Dr. Kate's qualifications?
Dr. Kate has been practicing Integrative and Functional Medicine for over a decade. She earned her Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) from National University of Health Sciences, where she graduated Valedictorian, and has additional training through the Institute of Functional Medicine. She does not diagnose or treat diseases or medical conditions. Her role is to help you understand your results and what to do next. Learn more about Dr. Kate here.
Does Dr. Kate accept insurance?
No. Dr. Kate doesn’t work with insurance, and insurance won’t reimburse you for lab testing.
The good news is that many clients are able to use their HSA funds to pay for our services, as well as supplements through Dr. Kate’s discount Fullscript dispensary. Every plan is a little different, so it’s worth checking with your HSA provider first. Dr. Kate also can’t provide a letter of medical necessity if your plan asks for one.
I'm not in the United States. Can I still order?
The DUTCH and GI-MAP tests ship internationally. The Thyroid Health Panel requires a blood draw at a US Quest Diagnostics location and is only available to US residents. Check each test page for details.
